- Location: Northeastern Indiana; covering 67.5 miles at an elevation of 790 feet above sea level. Built on the convergence of the St. Mary’s, St. Joseph, and Maumee Rivers, the city area is quite level and has very few hills or landforms, due to the flattening action of glaciers during the last Ice Age. Fort Wayne is within a 250-mile radius of 17 percent of the total U.S. population.
- Climate: Fort Wayne~The Home to Four Seasons. Temperatures are fairly moderate, with average summer temperatures from 60-84 degrees and winter temperatures from 16-36 degrees. Fort Wayne receives approximately 35 inches of annual precipitation, ranging from an average of 1.5 inches in September to 7 inches in December. - Education: The Fort Wayne Area supports four public school systems: Fort Wayne Community, East Allen County, Northwest Allen County, and Southwest Allen County; as well as a number of private and other non-public schools. As to higher learning, our city is the proud home to nine colleges and universities: Concordia Theological Seminary, Indiana Business College, Indiana Institute of Technology, Indiana - Purdue Fort Wayne, Indiana Wesleyan, Ivy Tech, Tri-State University, Saint Francis University, Taylor University.
- Freedom of Religion: Fort Wayne is also well steeped in her faith. With so many steeples visable in the city skyline, Fort Wayne has rightly earned the nickname: "A City of Churches".
- Communication: Fort Wayne has five AM and 16 FM radio stations. Four major television networks: WANE, WFFT, WISE, WPTA; along with an independent TV station and a PBS station. Major newspapers are the morning Journal-Gazette and the evening News-Sentinel.
- Transportation: Four major airlines serve Fort Wayne International Airport better known to residents as "Baer Field" offering an Aviation Museum named in honor of: WWI Ace~Lt. Paul Baer. For the aviation enthusiast and private aircraft: Smith Field is the place to be. Named after "The Smash-Up Kid": Art Smith. Citilink is Fort Wayne's public transportation bus system, including a complimentary demand-response van service designed to provide service to persons with disabilities, carrying passengers North, South, East, and West.
